Paladin Security is seeking a Full-Time Security Guard for Brampton Civic Hospital in Ontario. The position involves ensuring the safety and security of the hospital premises, responding to emergencies, and working closely with hospital staff and law enforcement. The successful candidate will need a valid Security License for Ontario, First Aid and CPR certification, COVID vaccination, and other immunization records. Previous experience in security or law enforcement is preferred, and a diploma in Justice studies/police foundations is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises to ensure safety and security

Operate security cameras and alarm systems

Monitor entry points and control access to restricted areas

Assist in emergency situations and crises

Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff

De-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts

Document daily activities and incidents accurately

Work with hospital staff and law enforcement for coordinated security efforts

Ensure hospital policies are followed and address violations

Prerequisites:

Valid Security License for Ontario

First Aid and CPR certification

COVID vaccination

Immunization records for various diseases

Fluency in English

Previous experience in security or law enforcement preferred

Diploma in Justice studies/police foundations considered an asset

Vulnerable Sector Check required

Certifications in Use of Force and Management of Aggressive Behavior

* Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
* Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
* Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
* Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.
* Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
* De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
* Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
* Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
* Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards

**Prerequisites:**

* Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
* Valid First Aid &amp; CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
* Covid Vaccine two doses
* Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test
* English (oral and written) fluency is a must
* Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
* Diploma in Justice studies/police foundations is considered an asset.
* Vulnerable Sector Check - to be completed upon hire
* Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
* Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
* Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB Certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
