Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a Concurrent Disorder Clinician to join the team at Sunshine Coast Mental Health in Sechelt, BC. This role involves working within a multi/interdisciplinary team to provide support and treatment services for clients experiencing co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. The clinician conducts comprehensive assessments, including DSM-IV diagnostics, and delivers individualized treatment, including individual, group, couples, and family therapy.

The position emphasizes building non-judgmental therapeutic relationships with clients and collaboration with colleagues, community resources, and other health professionals. The clinician also participates in case conferences, team meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives. The role encourages engagement in program-sponsored interdisciplinary research and integrates VCHโ€™s pillars of Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, as well as Planetary Health principles.

Candidates must have a Masterโ€™s degree in a Behavioral Health discipline and at least three years of recent experience working with clients experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. Skills in group facilitation, psychotherapeutic techniques, crisis stabilization, and knowledge of the DSM-V classification system are required. Additional wellness practice skills such as yoga, meditation, breathwork, or reiki are considered an asset.
