Description:
The Emergency Medical Technician – Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) responds to emergency and non-emergent calls to provide assessment, treatment, and safe transport of ill or injured persons. The EMT-PCP works independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care. Preference may be given to HSAS members according to the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.

The role requires knowledge of emergency care protocols and the ability to make rapid, informed decisions in high-pressure situations. EMT-PCPs must maintain accurate patient documentation, communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers, and follow all safety and infection control standards. Certifications in International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) are required, along with a valid Class 4 driver’s license.

Candidates must hold a Primary Care Paramedic diploma and be registered or eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at the PCP/EMT level.
