Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a full-scope Family Physician to provide comprehensive primary and urgent care at the Texada Island Health Centre. This solo practice position serves a population of about 1,100 and offers an opportunity to deliver critical, long-term healthcare to a rural island community. The role includes both in-person and virtual patient visits with flexible scheduling options.

The Family Physician will assess and diagnose a broad range of acute and chronic conditions, initiate treatments, and provide guidance to other health professionals. The physician will also work autonomously as part of an interdisciplinary health team, contributing to the community’s overall healthcare stability and well-being. Emergency transfers are supported by BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS), ensuring safe and coordinated care.

Texada Island, located between the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island, offers a peaceful lifestyle with amenities including grocery stores, banking, recreational activities, and outdoor pursuits such as hiking and kayaking. The island is accessible by ferry, boat, or plane, with full medical and recreational services nearby. Candidates must hold CPSBC registration, CCFP designation, and CMPA membership.
