Description:

The University of Alberta Hospital is seeking a Health Care Aide to join their team in providing personal assistance to patients in the medicine program. This role involves supporting activities of daily living, following patient care plans, and collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs, as well as observing and reporting on patient well-being. Effective communication with patients, families, and health professionals is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal assistance to patients in accordance with care plans and facility policies
  • Assist nurses in delivering routine care and organized activities
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and health professionals

    • Qualifications:

  • Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire
  • Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
  • Ability to work to full scope of practice in a fast-paced environment
  • Capability to push, pull, and lift at least 50 lbs
  • Connect Care Training preferred
