As a Hospital Security Guard, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe environment for healthcare staff, patients, and visitors.

Location: Base Hospital, Esquimalt
Shifts: Various days
Schedule: Various Shifts
Reports to: Site Supervisor
Starting Wage: $26.18/hr - $27.50/hr

Job Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all Post Orders, hospital policies, and security protocols.
  • Assist visitors, patients, and employees with professionalism and empathy.
  • Provide first aid when required (training provided).
  • Respond promptly to all security and emergency situations.
  • Carry out evacuation procedures in the event of fire, earthquake, or other emergencies.
  • Summon and coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical services.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs.
  • Access Control & Reception Duties
  • Qualifications and Experience:

  • Possess a Government of Canada secret (level II) security clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to remain alert while on duty.
  • Ability to work in a range of weather conditions throughout shift.
  • Must complete the online Commissionaire Security Officer Course.
  • Be willing to obtain a BC security worker's license as well as Advanced Security Training.
  • Be comfortable using computers.
  • Fluent in the English language - written, verbal and reading skills.
  • Have a positive attitude with a professional demeanor.
  • Have excellent attention to complete incident report writing.
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in varying situations.
