Description:

We are seeking a legal coordinator with litigation and/or administrative law experience to join our Prohibited Action Complaints department at our head office in Richmond. The successful candidate will manage an assigned caseload, communicate with workers, employers, and other representatives, and ensure the prohibited action complaint process runs smoothly. This role plays a crucial part in supporting our organization's goal of improving workplace health and safety across BC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage an assigned caseload of prohibited action complaints and ensure deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
  • Monitor case progression and identify potential issues for paralegals and managers.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of Prohibited Action Complaints policies and procedures.
  • Consistently model appropriate organizational behaviors expected of all employees.
  • Independently prioritize, plan, and maintain a heavy workload within time constraints.
  • Communicate accurately and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Exhibit professionalism and diplomacy with individuals of varied backgrounds.
  • Gather and analyze information, evaluate alternative solutions, and recommend an appropriate course of action.
  • Qualifications:

  • A legal administrative assistant certificate and a minimum of two years of legal assistant experience.
  • Knowledge of administrative law or litigation, legal procedures, and document preparation.
  • Above-average skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
