Description:

Are you a physician interested in playing a leadership role in preventing workplace injury and disease in British Columbia? WorkSafeBC is seeking a Medical Advisor to join the Medical Services department. In this role, you will collaborate with various professionals to assist injured workers in their recovery, rehabilitation, and safe return to work. Your primary responsibilities will involve providing medico-legal opinions and recommendations regarding workers' medical conditions, causes, and treatments.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate medical impairments and disabilities through electronic records

Provide evidence-based medical recommendations to adjudicating officers

Collaborate with community physicians for workers' rehabilitation needs

Work in a case-management team environment

Qualifications:

Eligible for full licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia

Minimum of five years of clinical practice experience

Interest in rehabilitation, mental health, or occupational medicine

Excellent communication skills

Before finalizing any offer of employment, candidates must meet legal requirements under the Criminal Records Review Act and confirm eligibility to work in Canada. WorkSafeBC's COVID-19 Employee Mandatory Vaccine Policy is currently suspended but may be re-implemented based on public health changes.
