Are you a physician interested in playing a leadership role in preventing workplace injury and disease in British Columbia? WorkSafeBC is seeking a Medical Advisor to join their team in the Medical Services department. The role involves partnering with various professionals to assist injured workers in their recovery, rehabilitation, and safe return to work. The Medical Advisor will provide opinions and recommendations on workers' medical conditions, causes, and treatments, utilizing academic and clinical knowledge to support injured workers.

What you'll do

  • Evaluate medical impairments and disabilities through review of electronic records and share opinions about cause, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis
  • Provide evidence-based medical recommendations to adjudicating officers
  • Collaborate with community physicians to ensure workers' rehabilitations and medical-management needs are met
  • Work in a case-management team environment with both medical and non-medical colleagues

    • Your background and experience:

  • Eligible for full licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
  • Minimum of five years of clinical practice experience
  • Interest in rehabilitation, mental health, or occupational medicine
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Must meet legal requirements under the Criminal Records Review Act
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada and eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C.
