Smarter Alloys, a leader in smart materials innovation, is seeking a Medical Device Engineer to work on designing and developing cutting-edge medical technologies using shape memory alloys. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end development of medical devices, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development of medical devices using shape memory alloys
  • Contribute to the Quality Management System (ISO 13485)
  • Translate concepts into manufacturable designs
  • Perform material characterization and mechanical testing
  • Design and validate test setups
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to development planning and improvement initiatives
  • Guide junior team members
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering
  • 3 years of experience in medical device development
  • Strong understanding of ISO 13485 and FDA regulations
  • Ability to manage projects independently
  • Proficiency in mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical testing
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with 3D CAD tools
  • Background in shape memory alloys or advanced materials
  • Familiarity with laser processing and precision manufacturing technologies
  • Ability to make data-driven design decisions
