Halton Healthcare is seeking a dedicated O.R. Support Staff member to assist the surgical team in providing exemplary patient care. The role involves patient positioning, room cleaning, equipment management, and assisting with preoperative patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist O.R. Nursing staff and physicians in patient care

Manage case carts, stock rooms, and transport patients

Maintain cleanliness of operating rooms and ensure availability of supplies

Support preoperative patient care

Qualifications:

Minimum grade 12 education

Certificate in Medical Device Reprocessing or equivalent experience

One year of OR support role experience

Previous Central Sterilization and Reprocessing experience

Good communication skills and ability to work with heavy equipment

Fluency in English and satisfactory employment record

Additional Information:

Hours: Various rotating shifts, subject to change based on operational requirements

Salary: $30.38 to $31.00 per hour

As a member of the surgical team, O.R. Support staff assists O.R. Nursing staff and physicians in the provision of patient care. Position involves positioning of patients, cleaning of Operating rooms, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available when needed, collection and return of equipment and specimens, stocking of rooms and their assistance as required. Will provide support to the operating room staff in the care of the preoperative patient. Case cart management, picking cases, stocking, patient transportation.

* Minimum grade 12 education required
* Current certificate from a recognized college level Medical Device Reprocessing Course or CSA Medical Device Reprocessing Certification required; combination of in-class and apprenticeship hours preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
* One year experience in the OR, doing the OR support role required
* Previous Central Sterilization and Reprocessing experience required.
* Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
* Aptitude for working with delicate and heavy equipment, ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
* Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
* Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.

We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.

**Hours:**Monday to Sunday - Various rotating 7.5 hour shifts 0600-1400; 0700-1500, 0730-1530, 0900-1700, 1500-2300, 2200-0600 (Hours are subject to change based on operational requirements)
