This job posting is for a Medical Laboratory Assistant position at Shared Health - Westman Laboratory in Brandon. The successful candidate will assist in sample triaging, accessioning, and processing of specimens, as well as performing basic routine procedures and phlebotomies. The individual will work under the general supervision of the Charge Technologist and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and standards.

Previous related experience is preferred, and completion of Grade 12 or equivalent is required. A Medical Laboratory Assistant program is preferred, along with certification from the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science. Proficiency in Windows computer environment, Microsoft Office programs, medical terminology, sterile techniques, and routine practices is desired. Keyboarding skills, basic math concepts, and effective communication skills are also necessary for this role.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, follow instructions precisely, work under pressure, and maintain confidentiality.
