Description:

Assisted Living Alberta is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Home and Community Care team. The OT will provide professional support services in clients' homes, administering assessments and implementing interventions in various clinical areas. Restorative and compensatory interventions will be used to help clients achieve optimal functional abilities and independence. By utilizing OT models and theories, the OT will collaborate with clients and families to determine, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation.

As an OT, you will provide evidence-informed services focused on occupational performance to meet individual, group, or community needs. You will engage with clients to enable meaningful occupations and support them in achieving optimal functional abilities. The role includes comprehensive services such as assessment, treatment, education, and collaboration with stakeholders within the client's physical, cultural, and social environments. You will also participate in interprofessional teams and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-informed services focused on occupational performance
  • Collaborate with clients and families in rehabilitation planning
  • Engage with interprofessional teams to improve services
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists
  • Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS HCP)
  • Ability to work independently in various settings
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional clinical care
  • Communication and assessment skills
  • Computer knowledge and proficiency
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Continuing Care experience
  • Palliative care experience
  • AADL authorizer
  • Experience with Connect Care and RAI HC assessment tool
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
