Join our team of Allied Health professionals at Humber River Health as an Occupational Therapist. In this role, you will provide evaluation, treatment, and education to assist patients in their recovery process. You will work within the Medicine and Surgery programs, recording patient progress, providing discharge planning, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.

This is a Temporary Full-Time position with a duration up to June 15, 2026, reporting to the Manager of Allied Health Services. The hourly rate ranges from $40.36 to $56.30, and the primary assignment is at the Wilson site. Availability to work on weekdays is required, with occasional weekends or statutory holidays as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

Providing Occupational Therapy services to patients in the acute care setting.

Recording patient assessment, progress, and discharge status.

Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team for discharge planning.

Supervising Rehabilitation Assistants and students.

Travel and cross-coverage between Wilson and Finch locations may be required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy.

Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.

Previous acute care experience is an asset.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work efficiently in a team setting.

At Humber River Health the Allied Health team plays a pivotal role delivering diagnostic, technical, supportive and therapeutic patient care. Occupational Therapists are valued members of our Allied Services Department.

Our Occupational Therapists provide evaluation, treatment, and education to assist patients in doing things with the abilities they have, and help to facilitate their activities of daily living, including the physical and cognitive aspects of their recovery. Availability to work on the occasional Weekend or Statutory holiday at both the Wilson location and the Reactivation Care Centre (Finch location) is an asset.

**Position Responsibilities:**

* Providing Occupational Therapy services to both the Medicine and Surgery program patients within the acute care setting.
* Provide appropriate assessment and treatment for referred patients.
* Recording patient assessment, progress and discharge status.
* Providing discharge planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team members, including applications to other resources.
* Recording workload measurement data.
* Work as a member of the health care team regarding services provided.
* Provide consultation to other disciplines in the area of physical medicine.
* Clinical supervisor of Rehabilitation Assistants.
* Clinical supervisor of students, including Occupational Therapist and/or OTA/PTA students.
* Travel and cross coverage to both the Wilson and Finch locations may be required. Access to a vehicle for cross site coverage will be an asset.

**Qualifications:**

* Bachelors or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
* Current registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario required.
* Membership in CAOT preferred.
* Previous occupational therapy in an acute setting experience is an asset.
* Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of tasks and work efficiently.
* Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to act as a valuable part of an interdisciplinary team.
* Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, creativity and resourcefulness.
* Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
