Position Summary: The Personal Support Worker (PSW) at UHN's E.W. Bickle Centre, Toronto Rehab Institute, is responsible for providing patient care as part of the inter-professional team. The PSW collaborates with team members to assist patients with daily activities and ensure a safe environment.

Duties:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living
  • Perform delegated tasks under the supervision of an RN or RPN
  • Communicate and demonstrate basic information according to the patient's care plan
  • Report and document unsafe conditions
  • Complete and maintain patient records
  • Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a PSW program
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
  • Behavioral management training considered an asset
  • Ability to handle physical exertion
  • Acute care or rehab experience considered an asset
  • Good attendance record required
