Description:

VON Canada in Scarborough, Ontario is seeking a Permanent, Part-Time Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join their team. The PSW will provide companionship, personal care, and health maintenance services to clients in their homes or communities. This position involves working with healthcare and personal support teams to promote client independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observes and evaluates client and family situations
  • Contributes to the development of care plans
  • Implements changes to care plans
  • Performs personal support tasks
  • Provides personal care as directed
  • Supports clients' families with child care
  • Communicates with the health team
  • Completes daily forms and assessments
  • Adheres to safety regulations and policies
  • Engages with supervisors on client plans

    • Education, Designations, and Experience:

  • High school diploma
  • CCA Certification required in Nova Scotia
  • Certificate in Home Support Worker, PSW program, or Health Care Aide
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Experience in household management or working with elderly, ill, or children

    • Skill Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Good assessment skills
  • Awareness of community resources
  • Ability to work in a team or independently
  • Adherence to confidentiality

    • Other:

  • Access to a personal vehicle and driver's license
  • Criminal Records Check required
