Description:

As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will be responsible for the packaging, distributing, shipping medications and the management and replenishment of medication inventory levels under the general supervision of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Package, label, and transport medications between departments.
  • Manage wardstock - fill, order, and receive inventory per guidelines.
  • Assist with non-sterile prep for sterile products.
  • Monitor inventory and remove expired products.
  • Handle clerical tasks like processing reports, charging/crediting medications, and filing.
  • Support unit-based tasks like labeling and communicating with care teams.
  • Keep equipment clean and maintained.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities.
  • Train new team members and pharmacy students.
  • Maintain internal certifications and performance standards.

    • **Qualifications:**

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Graduate of recognized pharmacy assistant program.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent retail or hospital pharmacy experience (within the last 3 years).
  • Preferred: Connect care (Willow application) experience.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of automated pharmaceutical packaging machines (Pacmed, Pentapak).
