Description:

Alta Vista Animal Hospital in Ottawa, ON is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Assistant/Client Service Representative to join their team. The ideal candidate will be organized, motivated, and empathetic, playing a crucial role in supporting the hospital and ensuring clients and their pets feel welcomed and appreciated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for patients and pet parents
  • Fill prescriptions and dispense medications as directed
  • Receive client calls for refill requests, review patient records, prepare medication labels, and fill prescriptions
  • Perform stocking procedures and quarterly inventory
  • Provide training for new team members and assist with protocols
  • Assist clients with prescription inquiries and fax prescriptions to outside pharmacies
  • Maintain cleanliness of the pharmacy area and perform general housekeeping duties
  • Work reception shifts at the front desk as needed
  • Willingness to learn more about veterinary services
  • Previous customer service experience in hospitality or retail is an asset
  • No experience with animals required, as long as you have a love for animals
