As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. Your duties may include order entry, preparation, repackaging, and final product checking of chemotherapy, sterile and non-sterile products, individual patient prescriptions, and ward stock. You will provide accurate and efficient dispensing of medication, as well as guidance and training to staff and students. Additionally, you will provide clinical support, maintain department records, participate in inventory management, and engage in special projects and programs as assigned.

Required qualifications for this role include completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program and active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician. Prior hospital experience, particularly in chemotherapy preparation, is necessary. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to work in teams and a commitment to continual personal quality improvement. Preferred qualifications include recent PLC experience, experience in pediatric or neonatal patient populations, and membership in a relevant pharmacy professional organization.
