Nova Scotia Health is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to provide empirically supported assessment and treatment services for adults who have crossed legal sexual boundaries. The Psychologist will work within the Forensic Sexual Behaviour Program (FSBP), offering specialized assessment and treatment across four sites in Nova Scotia, with assessment coordination centralized in Dartmouth. Responsibilities include facilitating specialized group treatments, completing forensic risk and needs assessments, supervising practicum students, participating in team meetings and case consultations, and contributing to program development and quality improvement initiatives. Court testimony may occasionally be required.
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree (MA/MSc) in Clinical or Forensic Psychology and be registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners (NSBEP) in good standing. A minimum of two years of clinical and research experience is required. Experience in a forensic setting and with recidivism risk assessment tools, psychometric testing, and DSM diagnosis is preferred. Competencies in additional languages such as Mi’kmaq, Arabic, or French are considered assets.
This permanent part-time position requires 30 hours biweekly. Compensation ranges from $53.89 to $68.19 hourly.
