McKenzie Health Care Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Recreation Therapist to join a leading seniors care facility in Red Deer County, Alberta. The Recreation Therapist will develop and implement personalized therapeutic recreation programs, supervise recreational assistants, conduct assessments, and collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams to promote residents' well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement personalized therapeutic recreation programs tailored to residents' needs.
  • Supervise and guide recreational assistants, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor progress to maximize resident independence and participation.
  • Promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-being through engaging activities.
  • Collaborate with families, interdisciplinary teams, and volunteers to create a supportive and enriching environment.
  • Qualifications:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Recreation Therapy.
  • Member of ATRA, Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Therapist Association.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate a passion for working with seniors and promoting their well-being.
