This job posting is for a Registered Nurse - Perinatal position at Victoria General Hospital in Victoria, BC. The nurse will provide direct nursing care to obstetrical patients in accordance with guidelines and standards.

Reports to the Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse - Perinatal will work to continuously improve quality and safety in patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience

Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant

Graduate of a recognized Perinatal Nursing specialty program

Current CPR Basic Rescuer and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certificate

Two (2) years recent related experience; OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Skills And Abilities

Ability to apply the nursing process effectively in a well-organized manner

Demonstrate sound organizational, problem solving and teaching skills

Respectful Workplace skills, such as politeness, tact and empathy

Physical ability to perform the duties of the position

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Ability to remain calm and act appropriately in stressful and emergency situations
