Description:
Nova Scotia Health is offering a unique opportunity for Registered Nurses to join its Rural Locum program across the Eastern Zone. Benefits include competitive salary, paid travel and accommodations, and other incentives for nurses willing to relocate.
Rural Locum Registered Nurses are responsible for the planning and delivery of nursing care, assisting clients and families to maintain or attain optimal health. Working under the guidance of Site Leads or Health Services Managers, nurses practice according to CRNNS Standards of Nursing Practice and the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics. Assignments may rotate across various rural facilities, providing exposure to multiple communities and healthcare settings.
Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing and possess relevant experience depending on the area of placement. Medical/Surgical assignments require at least 1 year of emergency nursing experience, while Emergency Department roles require a minimum of 3 years and specific certifications such as CTAS, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC or equivalent. Experience in rural healthcare is considered an asset, and competency in French is preferred.
