Step into your nursing career with confidence by joining Alberta's Graduate Nurse Transition Pilot Program. This program is designed for recently graduated Registered Nurses who are ready to launch their careers. The program offers opportunities in urban centers or rural communities, providing support and guidance to help you grow into your role. The 12-month program is divided into two phases: Enhanced Orientation and Independent Practice with Support.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations. You will utilize nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making to ensure the safety and well-being of those in your care. Additionally, you will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.

Provisional Permit holders will be paid a specified rate per hour until obtaining a full license. The position is classified as SN Registered Nurse NGT and is part of the United Nurses of Alberta union. The primary location is Northeast Community Health Center, with various shifts and hours per cycle. Required qualifications include completion of an accredited nursing program, active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta, and current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Eligibility for Graduate Nurses, Graduate Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Registered Psychiatric Nurses who have graduated within 12 months
