Description:

Join Alberta's Graduate Nurse Transition Pilot Program to kickstart your nursing career. This 12-month program offers two phases: Enhanced Orientation and Independent Practice with Support. You'll receive guidance from experienced peers and mentors to help you grow your skills and confidence in a safe environment.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide nursing services to patients, families, and communities, ensuring their safety and well-being. You'll use critical thinking and decision-making skills to offer patient-centered care, promote health, and advocate for patients. This role requires leadership in holistic patient care and adherence to organizational values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations
  • Utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making
  • Teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families
  • Support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care and health promotion
  • Reflect the shared vision and values of the organization in patient care

    • Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Eligibility for Graduate Nurses, Graduate Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Registered Psychiatric Nurses who have graduated within 12 months prior to the program start date
  • Additional qualifications in med/surg/acute care/ED/critical care/pediatric experience
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS - Heart and Stroke AED Level C REQUIRED)
  • Excellent communication skills and physical ability to assist in patient care tasks
  • Healthcare Provider Registration
  • Preferred qualifications as required
