Description:

Join Alberta's Graduate Nurse Transition Pilot Program to kickstart your nursing career. This 12-month program offers two phases: an Enhanced Orientation phase and an Independent Practice with Support phase. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide nursing services to patients, families, and communities, ensuring their safety and well-being. You will play a leadership role in patient care, health promotion, and maintenance, reflecting the organization's vision and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations
  • Utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making
  • Teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families
  • Support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care and health promotion
  • Provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care
  • Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Eligibility for Graduate Nurses, Graduate Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Registered Psychiatric Nurses who have graduated within 12 months
  • Demonstrated assessment, organization, and patient care skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and workloads
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Identify learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice
  • Apply for positions of 0.5 FTE or greater within the unit
  • Preferred experience in a hospital setting, especially in acute or emergency care
