Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for the Emergency Department. Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the RPN provides primary care to emergency patients in the Purple (minor) and Orange (ambulatory) zones, working collaboratively with the healthcare team, patients, and families. This role supports the philosophy of Person-Focused Care and aligns with Sunnybrook’s mission and values, ensuring comprehensive assessment, intervention, education, and patient advocacy.

The RPN will integrate critical thinking, provide quality care in a fast-paced and stressful environment, and contribute to organizational initiatives, including participation in nursing councils, unit committees, and quality improvement projects. The position emphasizes collaboration with RNs and other inter-professional team members to organize and prioritize patient care assignments effectively.

Candidates must hold current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, have an RPN diploma, and a current B.C.L.S. certificate. Recent acute care or RPN experience, excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to continuing education and Person-Centered Care principles are essential for success in this role.
