As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients for the purpose of promoting, maintaining, or restoring health, mental health, and preventing mental illness, injury, and disability. You will teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality, patient- and family-centered care, reflecting shared vision and values. Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour, with a rate adjustment upon obtaining a full license.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide intervention utilizing various treatment modalities to individuals experiencing significant mental health difficulties.

Deliver evidence-informed practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, medication administration, case management, and treatment.

Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited psychiatric nursing education program.

Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA).

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant mental health experience.

Minimum of 3 years direct crisis experience, preferably in a community setting.

Formal clinical training in triage, intervention, stabilization, and case management skills.

Extensive knowledge of Addiction and Mental Health resources and the community.

Class 5 driver's license or non-GDL for work-related travel.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Demonstrated ability to work well with community stakeholders, clients, and families.
