Shared Health is seeking a professional Social Worker (BSW) to join the Emergency Social Work team at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. The incumbent will provide skilled psychosocial assessment and interventions for individuals, families, and groups, supporting clients to adapt to health-related challenges and navigate healthcare and social systems effectively. The Social Worker will also assist the healthcare team in patient transitions, relieve colleagues as needed, and may participate in teaching or mentoring students and new staff.

The role requires active participation in the healthcare team, interpreting social, psychological, and emotional issues, and performing various administrative duties. The Social Worker will maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues, demonstrating leadership, initiative, and adherence to ethical standards in the delivery of patient care. Candidates must be registered with the Manitoba College of Social Workers and demonstrate competency in clinical social work practices.

Preferred candidates will have at least two years of relevant experience and may possess knowledge of Indigenous languages, customs, and values. The position demands strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and computer literacy.
