Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join the Regional Stroke Program, part of the North & East GTA Stroke Network (NEGTASN). The SLP will provide specialized assessment and intervention for individuals experiencing communication and swallowing difficulties following a stroke. Reporting to the Regional Director, this role blends clinical expertise with system-level leadership and works closely within an interprofessional team to ensure optimal patient care.

The successful candidate will champion the regional implementation of evidence-based practices, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, knowledge translation, education, and collaboration with partners to enhance stroke care across the continuum. Responsibilities include providing consultative services, triaging referrals, coordinating care, assessing and treating communication and swallowing needs, and educating patients and caregivers. The SLP will also act as a regional resource, support network initiatives, and serve as a subject matter expert for stroke best practices.

Candidates must have current CASLPO registration and a strong background in stroke care (minimum 5 years), including experience with dysphagia and communication assessment/management. Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based stroke best practices, patient/family education, interprofessional collaboration, and student mentorship is required. Excellent professional judgment, communication, critical thinking, and care coordination skills are essential.
